Lavender Essential Oil Uses


  • Hair loss: Can boost hair growth by up to 44% after just 7 months of treatment. Add 20 drops lavender oil to organic shampoo, shake well and use as normal.

  • Head Lice: lice eggs, and nits are killed by lavender. Can be used simultaneously with tea tree oil in a carrier oil and applied to the hair and scalp.

  • Improves blood circulation: It helps lower elevated blood pressure levels and can be used for reducing hypertension. Add 2-3 drops to a carrier oil and massage on the affected area

  • Insomnia: improves overall quality of sleep by 60%; sleep onset, length of sleep, quality of sleep and reduced symptoms of insomnia. Add 4 drops to a diffuser next to your bed. For restful sleep, add 4 drops lavender, 3 drops rose geranium and 2 drops frankincense to your diffuser.

  • Indigestion: Stimulates the mobility of your intestine and production of bile and gastric juices, which may help treat stomach pain, indigestion, colic, vomiting and diarrhoea. You can ingest 1 drop lavender oil in a glass of water, but only do so with caution and with the supervision of your physician.

  • Insect bites, insect repellent, itchy skin like eczema and psoriasis: For eczema, 2 drops with 2 drops tea tree oil and 2 teaspoons of coconut oil, use daily. Can apply 1 drop directly onto insect bite or sting

  • Muscle and joint pain, sprains and backache: Massage lavender oil onto the affected area.

  • Respiratory problems: cold and flu, throat infections, cough, asthma, whooping cough, sinus congestion, bronchitis, tonsillitis and laryngitis. Dilute 2-3 drops in a carrier oil and apply on your neck, chest, or back, or via steam inhalation or vaporizer.

  • Skin problems: Acne, eczema, skin lightening and wrinkles. For acne dilute it in coconut oil or another carrier oil and apply it to your skin after washing your face. Mix 1 drop of lavender oil with a drop of Argan oil and put directly on a pimple twice a day.

  • Sunburn and inflammation: Mix ¼ cup Aloe Vera juice, 2 tablespoons of distilled water, 10-12 drops of lavender and jojoba oil. Shake in spray bottle. Apply 2-3 times a day.

  • Wrinkles: Lavender is full of antioxidants. A few drops with a carrier oil or your moisturizer, use once or twice a day.

  • Burns: Lavender oil can be applied directly onto a burn mark as soon as possible after the incident. It will alleviate pain and help with the healing process and scarring.
